What is the Silver Cord Program?
The Silver Cord Program is a distinguished volunteer recognition program at Lone Tree that honors students who dedicate their time to serving others in their school, community, and beyond. Students who complete 100 hours of approved volunteer service during high school will receive a silver honor cord to wear at graduation.

Program Basics
- Students are encouraged to earn 25 hours per year, starting in 8th grade summer
- A maximum of 10 hours annually may be counted in any one category
- All hours must be unpaid and voluntary
- All hours must be verified by an adult not in your immediate family
- Hours that exceed 10 in any category or involve a unique service activity may be recorded under the “Other” category. Please note that “Other” hours will be carefully reviewed for approval.
